Daniel 3:17-18

Daniel 3:17-18 "If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king. But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up."

It's a Photo Finish

So I rush to the end of my chemo marathon and I'm too pooped to post.

Thankfully, Fiona is in my cheering section when I cross.

And she brought her camera!

Please click on the post title to see Fiona's awesome tribute at the finish line.

  1. Hi Steve

Well done on your brave achievement. Now give yourself plenty of time, months, to fully de-toxify.

Dont be surprised to feel a loss of direction for a while. For so long you have been actively kicking cancer's butt. Now you have nothing to do but wait. Wait for check-ups and scans and milestones of survival statistic dates.

Rest and recuperate and look forward to driving that car and cruising Alaska.

Big hugs to you and your family ((0))

  2. Steve,
We are so happy that you have reached this important milestone! Congrats on a well run race! You made it! No you just need to recoup after the marathon.

Can't wait to play with you and Carla in Alaska. Hey, Carole and Fiona should come too. :)

  3. Hi Carol,

I'd love to come to Alaska, but think I'd be pushing my luck after my recent jaunt off to Greece alone :-)
Husband is unlikely to be as understanding if I disappear off to Alaska for a while - unfortunately.
But you guys can take lots of pictures and we'll all feel like we were there with you :-)

    Steve,
What Fiona said above hits the nail on the head. Many people 'crash' once the treatment is over because you go back to that dreaded waiting time again - waiting for the scan, blood test etc that gives you the 'NED' news.
It's like torture - but you'll do good. So much to look forward to now you're all done with Chemo -
    Again Steve.... 'Well Done' :-)

Love to you & Carla and the whole family

  5. Dear Steve ~
I am so happy for your treatments to be over! You did it! You are an inspiration to many people and will be for years to come. Carla, now what? Do you get to rest yet? Steve, enjoy your well-deserved celebrations!

    Love you all lots,

  7. Thank you, one and all for being at the finish line with us. It is definitely good to be done with chemo. Tomorrow (Thursday) I go in with Carla to see my surgeon about reversing the ileostomy. Dr. Sklow will be going in to look around and see how things have healed. That means I get to have a saline enema first thing in the morning. Fun, fun. I'll get a post up with the results and the date for surgery.

Fiona and Carole, thanks for the heads up now that I am done actively fighting cancer. So far I have been too tired to think about it. And there is still another surgery in a few weeks. Maybe then it will hit me.

    Love and hugs for everybody...
