Daniel 3:17-18

Daniel 3:17-18 "If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king. But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up."

NEWS FLASH: Cancer Kills Energizer Bunny

Cancer patient Steve Chamberlin of Stansbury Park, Utah, reports that rectal cancer has killed the Energizer Bunny. "Before my cancer diagnosis I used to just keep going, and going, and going," he quips, "but now, all I seem to do is just go to sleep—anywhere, anytime. Except at night, of course. Then I only attempt to go to sleep, even though I'm completely exhausted." Steve believes that Dr. Sklow accidentally removed his batteries along with his rectum during surgery on December 3, 2010. Admittedly, Steve's batteries were first depleted prior to surgery by six intense weeks of chemo and radiation therapy. But with two months off for recharging in anticipation of the surgery, all evidence pointed towards an increase in energy levels. Now, nothing. The Energizer Bunny is all but dead. Steve is currently in communication with Duracell, the CopperTop® people. More news to follow shortly.

  1. Hi Steve,
It does get better I promise....I'm now 5 weeks post surgery and just starting to get some energy back.
Don't push it, pace yourself and wait. If you do too much too soon you will regret it.

As the weeks go by you'll realise that you are doing more than you were the previous week. It's a long road and there are no short cuts.

Like you, my energy was wiped out and I slept so much but at night, that's the time when your mind starts to race and it becomes impossible to sleep - vicious circle. It will calm down.

Much luv to you both xxxx

  2. Hi Carole,
Thanks for getting me back on the blog. I'm glad to know it's not just me. Patience has never been my strongest virtue, so thank you for your vantage point on all of this. I'm comforted knowing it gets better each week and that you know this first hand.

    Luv to you too xxxx

  3. Dude, Its was great to go to lunch with you this afternoon. Thanks again for the invite. I agree with Carole, just take it slow, you have the time off to get better, use it to your advantage. The goal is to get you better, don't worry about doing to much too soon. Just take care of you and Carla as well. Anything, I can do, I am really just across the street, call me, come over or yell out your window, I mean it JUST A FAVOR. Take care buddy,

    Love ya man.

  4. Those batteries had 6 weeks of chemo and radiation corroding them. Most people would have put them out for recycling.
Yours stayed in but were totally paralyzed for a lot of hours by the anaesthetic
At the same time they were poked, prodded, pushed and chopped into. Maybe when they settled back into place some of the positives became negative and the odd plus became a minus.
In fact I think someone removed a dud one completely and had to rewire the circuit so you can still function on fewer batteries

Don’t let anyone suggest the Energiser bunny be plugged into the recharger yet. Lay him on the couch and cover him cosily with blankets. He looks cute in those shades and striped sandals. Feed him a menu of Christmas chocolates and DVDs.

If he rushes around too soon some of his stuffing might come out.

  6. Sharon says she'll shop for a new set of batteries for you, but you're in charge of installation.

  7. Steve, It is good to hear you have such a wonderful support group. Am I left out? I didn't get invited to lunch with you. ... oh wait, did you not invite me because you knew I'd only order baby rice cereal and you'd be embarrassed?

Hey, maybe there's a Broken Gut, Broken Butt Store we've missed along the way somewhere? Since you seem to have some awake time at night, will you look into that for me? During my awake time, I'm busy watching re-runs. (smiles)

Love you Little Brother. I miss hearing from you. xoxo

PS: Maybe your kids hid your batteries. Heard they like having you at home. (smiles)

  8. Wouldn't that be cool if someone did invent a people recharger? Just plug yourself in and get back your energy for the rest of the things you need to do. I think our world is desparately in need.

Though, maybe instead of running at full 3D graphic mode you should throttle back to podcasting mode. I just installed a graphic app on my Ipod that wipes out my battery in less than an hour - a battery that lasts all day or more when playing podcasts.

  9. HAVE A SUPER MERRY CHRISTMAS! ... it's an event where pajamas are welcome and lounging around is expected. I think even napping is included in some family traditions. If it's not already in yours, you could adopt it this year ... a gigantic family nap by the Christmas tree.

Hey, can I come? I've been sleeping a lot lately too. (smiles)

    Love you, The Big Sister
